Community Service Assistant

Job Summary: The Community Service Assistant (Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) Assistant) will respond to all issues related to the provision of a low demand, 24 hour emergency shelter.  Activities will be directed toward providing a safe therapeutic environment where residents can establish a trusting relationship with each other, the staff and the program. The QMHP Assistant/CSA works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

  • Knowledge of community resources and of program policies and procedures.
  • Ability to assess client needs, to coordinate client services, and to implement plans generated by the treatment team.
  • Skills necessary to document work performed utilizing appropriate system(s).

Education:

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
Preferred:
  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with a major specialization in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or related field. 

License:

Required:

  • Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in working with homeless individuals is required.

Experience:

Hours: Full-time; 40 hours per week/hours vary.

Salary: $31,200 annually.
