Relief Caseworker Assistant

Job Summary: This Caseworker Assistant position is located at 4019 Manchaca Road within the Alameda House program. This position serves all clients housed at this facility. The primary purpose of the position is to supervise residents in order to maintain appropriate structure and safety with some ability to perform rehabilitative client care work, assisting mentally ill adults with daily personal care routines. Position requires staff to monitor clients, enforce facility rules, manage client behaviors, de-escalate clients, intervene in crises, engage clients in social and developmental activities. Work is performed under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Education:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

License:

Required:

  • Current and valid Texas driver's license and a clean driving record.

Experience:

Required:

  • Minimum of 6 months working with persons with mental health diagnosis (and/or other disorders specific to the unit's population).
  • Basic computer and word processing/data entry abilities.

Preferred:

  • Experience in care of clients and residential environment.

Workhours: As needed.

Salary: $20.83 an hour, plus an additional 10% crisis stipend.
