SOAR Specialist (QMHP)

Job Summary: The SOAR Specialist completes SOAR applications and provides specialized training, advocacy and assistance to consumers who may be eligible and wish to apply for SSI/SSDI benefits. Services are provided to identified individuals who have experienced or at risk of homelessness accompanied by significant behavioral health, medical, and/or substance abuse issues utilizing a recovery-based and trauma-informed perspective. The SOAR Specialist operates in a dynamic environment, develops extensive knowledge of community resources, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and cultivates a clinical skill set by forging therapeutic relationships with diverse community members. The SOAR Specialist may operate in non-traditional settings and unstructured environments to meet individuals where they are at. 

The SOAR Specialist works in partnership with racially and culturally diverse individuals to define and facilitate their desired life outcomes. SOAR Specialists participate in diagnostic evaluations and provide assessment of strengths, preferences, functional impairments and symptoms of psychiatric and/or co-occurring disorder(s) at regular intervals to ensure optimal and personalized services. The SOAR Specialist works under the general supervision of the SOAR Team Lead as well as a LPHA who provides ongoing evaluation and oversight of assessments, diagnoses and treatment. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Education:

Required:

  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with a major specialization in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or related field. 

Preferred:

  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree with a major specialization in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or related field. 

License: 

Required:

  • Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record. 

Hours: Full-time; Workhours; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Workdays; Monday-Friday 

Salary: $22.35 - $23.47 an hour based on education.
