Job Summary: The RPA assists clients in understanding their rights and available protections, documents concerns and potential violations, and maintains accurate records of all interactions. This position assists the RPO in identifying trends or areas of concern to help inform outreach efforts and/or educational materials for staff. The RPA also assists in gathering information for regulatory reporting requirements.
The RPA provides all services with a person-centered, trauma-informed approach and does so in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner. The RPA frequently handles highly sensitive information, and collaborates with critical agencies, including Adult Protective Services (APS), Child Protective Services (CPS), and other state departments. The RPA must maintain confidentiality, adhere to ethical standards, and stay apprised of regulations related to client rights.
The RPA must meet requirements to be a Peer Support Specialist and as such, acts as a model of recovery by sharing their lived experience to bring hope and engages clients by providing education, advocacy, and/or outreach. The RPA is advanced in their recovery and is willing and able to share their recovery story in a positive, motivational manner. Services provided may include training in recovery strategies, self-help, and self-advocacy, accessing healthcare services and community resources to facilitate the services the consumer needs, or any other supervisor-approved topic.

Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.
