Job Summary:
This position is responsible for ensuring the provision of recovery-focused, person-centered care with a trauma-informed perspective. This position operates in a dynamic environment, and spends the majority of their workday providing referral and linkage services, including referral to substance use services, mental health services, and medical care and treatment, to Texas residents living with substance use disorders in Travis County and outlying areas. In addition, the majority of the people this position serves are experiencing housing instability or homelessness. This position is responsible for providing harm reduction education and supplies to some of the most vulnerable members of our community, including, but not limited to: safer sex supplies, wound care kits, hygiene kits, and Nasal Narcan kits to reverse an opioid overdose. This position is also responsible for tabling at community events and Pop-Up Resource Clinics. This position requires working knowledge of Hepatitis, HIV, and other infectious diseases. This position requires extensive knowledge of substance use disorders, as well as knowledge and competency in discussing opioid overdose and opioid overdose reversal.
The person in this position is required to have LCDC or LCDC-I licensure, and must also obtain Community Health Worker certification if they don't already possess this certification.
Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.
