Job Summary: Employment Specialist provide employment skills training to individuals who may also have co-occurring substance use disorders and/or chronic health conditions utilizing a recovery based and trauma-informed perspective.  Employment Specialists operate in a dynamic environment, develop extensive knowledge of community resources, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and cultivate a clinical skill-set by forging therapeutic relationships with diverse community members.  Services are typically provided in the community and require the use of a personal automobile and cell phone.

Employment Specialist work in partnership with racially and culturally diverse individuals to define and facilitate their desired life/employment outcomes. Employment Specialists participate in diagnostic evaluations and provide assessment of strengths, preferences, functional impairments and symptoms of psychiatric and/or co-occurring disorder(s) at regular intervals to ensure optimal and personalized services.  Frequent service coordination with external and internal providers is necessary to support individuals in achieving independent functioning.  Employment Specialist may provide all or some of the following:  obtain/maintain employment, transportation, and resources fulfilling any basic need. Employment Specialist may also facilitate employment skills training groups and/or utilize other evidenced-based interventions. 

On-call responsibilities may be required dependent upon unit protocols. This position may have additional duties associated with providing bilingual communication services and requires the completion of a language competency test.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must possess a strong knowledge of severe and persistent mental illness and commonly co-occurring disorder and case management/service coordination principles.
  • Must effectively communicate their clinical impression, assess the strengths and functional impairments of those they serve and effectively collaborate with racially and culturally diverse individuals to achieve their goals.
  • Collaborate professionally with an interdisciplinary treatment team and be adaptable to a wide variety of service environments and rapidly evolving clinical circumstances.
  • Possess a beginning knowledge of principles of psychiatric crisis intervention and be prepared to interact with emergency medical and psychiatric service providers to ensure the safety of Integral Care staff and clients.
  • Must possess computer skills necessary to document or work performed and demonstrate the ability to work efficiently to complete all assessments and documentation in a timely manner.



  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with a major specialization in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or related field. 


  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree with a major specialization in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or related field. 



  • Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record. 
  • Center certification (QMHP-CS) to perform psychosocial rehabilitative skills training and case management.
  • Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
  • Safety-Care certification



  • Bilingual in Spanish 
  • May receive additional compensation once a bilingual competency test is passed.

Hours:  Full-time; 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Monday-Friday

Position is eligible for differential pay.

  • Second Shift: $3.25

  • Third Shift: $4.25

  • Weekend Shift: $5.00

Salary: Starting Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) salary is at $45,689 based on education, but internal applicants are subject to Integral Care's QMHP career ladder
