Administrative Assistant Job Summary:  This position is located within the Housing and Homeless Services division. This division supports multiple teams providing services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness or housing instability within Travis County. The position will be housed at 3000 Oak Springs Dr. Austin, TX 78702. The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of highly complex administrative and clerical work, while supporting the daily operational needs of the housing Teams. Position responsibilities will include clinical chart audits, running reports, billing, record keeping, scheduling via inter and intra agency Electronic Health Records. Additional duties may include preparing check requests, data entry into various databases to track program entry/exit and preparing reports for tracking program metrics as directed to determine the efficacy of program interventions and to meet grant requirements all in support of the Housing and Homeless Services Programs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of office procedures, spelling, grammar, punctuation and arithmetic.
  • Skill using office equipment and personal computers.
  • Skill in word processing, spreadsheet, and database computer applications.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain records, files, and reports.

Administrative Assistant Education:


  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent 

Administrative Assistant License: 


  • Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record. 

Administrative Assistant Experience: 


  • Three years of progressively responsible experience in general office administrative work.
  • Three years of successful experience in customer service. 

Hours:  Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. 

Salary:  $16.27 an hour.
