Registered Nurse Supervisor - Crisis

Job Summary:

The Nurse Supervisor provides clinical and administrative oversight for nursing staff to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality care. 

This position is expected to demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and positive regard for others in verbal, written, and non-verbal communications.  The Nurse Supervisor promotes trauma informed practices, suicide safer care, and fosters a supportive and welcoming environment. This position calls for strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team and with both internal and external stakeholders. The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for: providing clinical supervision to nursing staff; identifying, developing and implementing nursing processes in compliance with contractual, Joint Commission standards and other applicable guidelines, the Nursing Practice Act and nursing best practices; training nursing staff in clinical nursing processes; developing and maintaining quality assurance and evaluation tools specific to clinical nursing practice; creating health education tools, reviewing and monitoring clinical nursing incidents, serving as a member and representative of the division on the Infection Prevention Committee; addressing clinical and behavioral deficiencies as needed; coordinating nursing meetings and contributing to unit-level/divisional meetings; providing staff education and training; participating in the recruitment process, including applicant review, interviewing, and pre-hire support; approving staff timesheets on a weekly basis; coordinating monthly nursing schedules to ensure adequate staffing coverage. The Nurse Supervisor works under the administrative supervision of the Practice Administrator (or designee). Work at this level is performed with moderate to high latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. A flexible schedule and participation with on- call rotation is required. The Nurse Supervisor may also be assigned direct clinical responsibility for one or more units.

Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Education:

Required:

  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with a major specialization in Nursing.

License:

Required:

  • Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Licensed as an RN in the state of Texas.

Experience:

Required:

  • 1 - 2 years of nursing experience providing direct care.

Preferred: 

  • Bilingual in Spanish.

Hours: Full - Time.

Workdays: Varies.

Workhours: Monday - Friday.

Salary: $110,826.56 - $141,292.32, plus an additional 10% crisis stipend.
