Parent Partner

Job Summary: The Parent Partner (PP) is a parent or guardian with lived experience of caring for a child who has a mental health diagnosis. The Parent Partner uses their lived experience to connect with other parents/guardians of children with mental health concerns. The PP encourages engagement, empowerment and self-advocacy for families and assists families in making informed decisions. The Parent Partner provides families information about services, referrals, trainings, case management, informal support, parent skills training and assistance in better understanding and navigating the systems the children are a part of (school, mental health, criminal justice, etc.) services As a member of the treatment team, the PP works towards improving the treatment outcomes of children's mental health services. The Parent Partner provides general consultation to staff and ensures each family is heard and their individual needs are being addressed and met by the mental health providers.

Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Education:

Required:

  • Graduated from High School with a Diploma or GED equivalent.

License:

Required:

  • Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Experience:

Required:

  • Lived experience as a parent of a child with mental health or substance use issues.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred. 

Hours: Full-Time.

Workdays: Monday - Friday. 

Workhours: 40 hours per week.

Salary: $21.29 per hour.
