Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC)

Job Summary: The Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or Intern in a Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program provides essential support and counseling for individuals facing substance use disorders. This role involves implementing evidence-based practices to facilitate recovery, utilizing medication-assisted therapies alongside therapeutic interventions. The LCDC or Intern works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for clients, promoting their health and well-being.

Key Duties:

  • Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations to determine client needs and progress in the MAT program.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate medication-assisted therapies and behavioral health
    interventions.
  • Provide counseling and support to clients, focusing on building coping skills, enhancing motivation, and addressing
    underlying issues related to substance use.
  • Monitor client adherence to medication regimens and assess for any side effects or complications.
  • Collaborate with medical professionals to ensure integrated care and appropriate adjustments to treatment plans.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions, providing a supportive environment for shared experiences and recovery strategies.
  • Assist clients in accessing essential resources such as housing, employment, and social services to support their
    recovery journey.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, treatment interventions, and outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in addiction treatment
    and medication-assisted therapy.
  • Promote a recovery-oriented, trauma-informed approach in all interactions with clients, fostering a safe and supportive
    therapeutic environment.

Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Education:

Required:

  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with a major specialization in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or related field.

License:

Required:

  • Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • LCDC or LCDC-CI required. Must maintain licensure throughout employment.

Experience:

Preferred:

  • 1-2 years direct client care in mental health and/or substance abuse services.
  • Bilingual preferred.

Hours: Full-Time.

Workdays: Monday-Friday.

Workhours: 6:00AM - 3:00PM.

Salary: $22.14 - $32.68 an hour depending on years of licensure, plus an additional 10% crisis stipend.
