Job Summary: The Overnight LPHA Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the operations of a mental health crisis diversion program within the City's 911 Call Center during the overnight shift. The primary role of this position will be to ensure the safety and well-being of callers in crisis by providing effective and efficient support to callers, and supervising Mental Health Triage Specialists. Additionally, the Overnight LPHA Supervisor will assist in the development of the overnight community response in partnership with the Travis County EMS Community Health Paramedic (EMS-CHP) team. This is a 24/7 program, and employees are considered essential staff.

Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and provide support to Mental Health Triage Specialists during the overnight shift
  • Ensure the quality of services by monitoring calls, reviewing call recordings, and providing feedback to staff as needed
  • Assist in the training and development of new Mental Health Triage Specialists
  • Assist in the expansion of the overnight community response team in partnership with EMS Community Health Paramedics (EMS-CHP)
  • Monitor quality of clinician documentation through audits and reports
  • Participate in regular meetings with other supervisors and manager to discuss operational issues, staffing needs, and program updates
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to callers in need
  • Receive direct transfer of calls from individuals seeking mental health assistance via 911 or telehealth
  • Provide de-escalation services to individuals calling 911 in distress while police are en route
  • Use technology such as Austin Police Department Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Integral Care electronic health record, Microsoft Teams for telehealth, and Office 365
  •  Optional duties may include responding in the field for crisis assessments as part of the EMS Community Health Paramedic (EMS-CHP) team and/or EMCOT field response team.

Education:

Required:

  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree with a major specialization in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or related field. 

License: 

Required:

  • Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record. 
  • Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA), LPC, LCSW, Licensed Psychologist, or LMFT. 

Experience:

Preferred: 

  • Bilingual in Spanish

Hours:  Full-time; Workdays/workhours; 5 days: 10:00PM-6:000AM or 4 days: 8:00PM-6:00AM

Salary:  $72,127.00 - $91,954.00 annually.
