Director of Cost Accounting and Analysis

Job Summary: Responsible for managing Cost Accounting for the agency, including but not limited to, the Public Health Provider Charity Care Pool Cost Report, the Mental Health Early Childhood Intervention and Intellectual and Developmental Disability (MEI) Cost Report, the Texas Home Living Cost Report, and CARE Report III.  This position is also responsible for assisting the Director of Budget and Financial Analysis with the preparation and maintenance of the annual operation budget, accounting for all contractual resources, and responsibilities for conducting special projects in financial analysis as assigned.

Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Education:

Required:

  • Graduated from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in accounting, finance, or related field.

License: 

Required:

  • Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record. 

Experience:

Required:

  • Three (3) years' increasingly responsible experience in the accounting field and supervision.
  • Demonstrated experience in governmental accounting, auditing financial reporting and CAFR preparation.

Preferred: 

  • Certified Public Accountant 
  • 5 or more years of community mental health center experience

Hours:  Full-time; Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.

Salary:  $106,564 annually.
