Pharmacy Technician

Education:  High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.  

Description:  This position is located within the Pharmacy Services Units of Integral Care.  This position requires at least one year of pharmacy technician experience. This position has multiple purposes, one purpose is to assist in the control, inventory, and disbursement of PAP medications.  Help clients to obtain formulary medications prescribed to patients through application to appropriate pharmaceutical providers.  Work is performed under moderate administrative supervision consisting of program goals, schedules, and broad guidance. The employee exercises independence in completing tasks in accordance with established procedures, referring disapproved medication requests to the supervisor.  Technical guidance, review and oversight is also provided by the assigned pharmacist in the disbursement of PAP and mail order of medications to patients and other Pharmacy operations.  Distribution and inventory of Nicotine Replacement Therapy ( NRT) in collaboration with Integral Care health and Wellness Dept. Help procure medication prior authorizations for clients with 3rd parties insurance payors. Work as a retail pharmacy techs, with legal responsibilities, within Integral Care Pharmacy.  

Reasonably regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.  Three years of progressively responsible experience in general office administrative work, plus one year of experience in a pharmacy or clinical environment is preferred.  Education and experience may be substituted for one another.  Bilingual fluency preferred. 

License(s):  Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is required.  Current and valid Texas driver's license and a clean driving record required.  

Hours:  Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. 

Salary:  $16.27 an hour.
