Job Summary: The IDD Crisis Intervention Specialist team supports individuals aged 3-99 diagnosed with an intellectual and/or developmental disability who have experienced a crisis episode or who are at risk of experiencing a crisis episode. Crisis Intervention Specialists support individuals with IDD to remain in the community by providing crisis prevention services. Additionally, CIS works to increase the capacity of caregivers, service providers and law enforcement in serving the unique needs of individuals with IDD diagnoses through education and consultation.
As a Crisis Intervention Specialist (CIS), you will provide services in a dynamic environment, develop extensive knowledge of community resources, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and cultivate a clinical skill-set by forging therapeutic relationships with diverse community members. You will provide services in the community, including individual's place of residence, schools, day programming, as well as within the crisis respites, psychiatric hospitals, jails, and homeless shelters/camps. Many of the individuals you will serve will have severe mental illnesses, substance use disorders, chronic health conditions and/or experience chronic homelessness.
Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Salary: $23.25 - $24.41 an hour based on education.
