Associate Medical Director

Job Summary:
The Associate Medical Director provides clinical leadership to ensure the effective delivery of psychiatric services within the Crisis Services & Justice Initiatives Division, in collaboration with program leadership. This role oversees the psychiatric care provided across crisis programs, crisis residential facilities, and justice-involved populations. The position is responsible for overseeing medical and nursing staff, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and driving high-quality, recovery-focused care in crisis and justice-involved settings.

This position reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer and works in close coordination with other psychiatric team leaders across divisions, including Adult Behavioral Health (ABH) services. The Associate Medical Director plays a key role in strategic planning, quality improvement, and program development to enhance services for individuals involved in the criminal justice system and those experiencing acute behavioral health crises.

Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Education/Experience:

Required:

  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Doctorate degree.
  • 5 years' experience pf supervisory of medical staff.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in medical practice, clinical administration and management.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of criminal justice diversion programs, forensic evaluations, and competency restoration services.
  • Experience in forensic psychiatry.

License:

Required:

  • Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Active, unrestricted Texas medical license (MD or DO) & DEA license.
  • Board Certified in Psychiatry required.

Hours: Full-Time.

Workdays: Monday - Friday.

Workhours: 8:00AM - 5:00PM.

Salary: $322,532.76 annually.
