Qualified Medical Health Professional

Job Number:  21-608-11339

Job Summary: The 911 Call Center staff are positioned within the Combined Transportation, Emergency, and Communications Center (CTECC). The 911 Call Center staff work in coordination with APD and EMS call takers to provide mental health assistance to individuals contacting 911 for mental health needs. The QMHP's primary purpose is to handle crisis calls by providing telephonic crisis intervention services and risk assessments, to complete initial screenings, provide information about Integral Care services, provide community referrals and support, link callers with the appropriate service providers, and activate emergency services as needed. The goal is to ensure individuals in our community receive professional mental health services from the time they call 911 to the time a mental health professional arrives to assist and support the individual experiencing a mental health crisis.

In addition to telephonic screenings at the 911 Call Center, this position may also provide Telehealth crisis screening and assessments as well as being partnered in the community with another clinician or health care provider to do community-based crisis screenings and assessments from referrals received by first responder partners and staff stationed at the 911 Call Center.

These duties are completed with a focus on customer care, wherein staff will find ways to best meet the needs of clients. These job duties are performed under the supervision of an LPHA. The QMHP has moderate latitude for the exercise of independent judgment in most tasks performed, and works closely with a multitude of community partners, including but not limited to APD and EMS.
