Job Summary: Serves as a part time psychiatrist in a community mental health setting providing medical services within scope of license, training, credentialing, and current standards of care and per quality criteria of the employer. This position provides psychiatric care with the Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) Program. AOT is the innovative practice of delivering outpatient treatment under civil court order to adults who experience a prior history of repeated hospitalizations or arrest. The position will utilize evidence based practices identified by health care research; will assess client needs and initiate actions to meet those needs within the scope of practice. Conducts diagnostic formulation, assesses client's needs and options and discusses with the client his/her findings and recommendations. Directs treatment and urgency related to: medication, labs, other diagnostic tests, hospitalization and completes court documentation, referral and medical forms as appropriate. Collaboratively works with the Assertive Community Treatment Team and makes recommendations when indicated. Works harmoniously with Unit Manager(s), Associate Medical Director and Chief Medical Officer to define and deliver quality clinical medical care for all clients with the units.

Demonstrated capabilities in medical practice and clinical administration and management. Meets all other criteria for employment and medical staff appointment, as appropriate.



  • Graduation from an accredited medical school is required. Successful completion of psychiatric residency approved by the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or equivalent body. 



  • Licensed to practice medicine in Texas. Current DPS and DEA licenses and Board eligible. 
  • Current and valid Texas driver's license and a clean driving record. 



  • One year of clinical experience in mental illness, substance abuse and/or emotional problems. 

Hours: Flexible, 10 hours per week. 

Salary:  $96.82 - $124.02 an hour depending on licensed experience.
