Maintenance Technician

Job Summary: This position performs general restoration, renovation and maintenance work.  Work is performed under the general direction of the Facilities Office Manager with the latitude for exercise of individual knowledge and technical skill. Will serve as a resource specialist in a designated skilled trade. This position requires the ability to be on 24-hour call on a rotating basis.

Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Performs rough and finish maintenance carpentry and plastering on commercial and residential buildings.
  • Installs wood shelving, repairs and replaces doors, windows, building hardware, fencing, and gates
  • Performs general maintenance repairs and construction of roof systems.
  • Performs floor covering work.
  • Prepares surfaces for painting, use brushes, rollers, and spray equipment, paints, metal primers and lacquer to paint and wallpaper a variety of interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Changes filters, blowers, and condensing fan blowers.
  • PlumbingInspects, installs, troubleshoots and repairs plumbing fixtures components and supply waste lines, including re-building flush valves, sink faucets and valves.
  • Electrical: Inspects, installs, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical fixtures, equipment, and related apparatus, including changing ballasts.
  • HVAC: Performs preventive maintenance on heating and air conditioning units and related apparatus. Duties do not include refrigerant recovery.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent 

License: 

Required:

  • Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record. 

Hours:  Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. 

Salary:  $20.03 an hour.
