Call Center Crisis Clinician (QMHP) Job Summary:

Integral Care's Team at the 911 Call Center seeks to provide people with professional mental health care at the time of crisis and decrease law enforcement intervention whenever possible. This groundbreaking project is made possible through Integral Care's collaboration with community partners who are dedicated to bringing quality mental health care to individuals and their families experiencing a mental health crisis. The goal is to ensure individuals in our community receive professional mental health services from the time they call 911 to the time a mental health professional arrives to assist and support the individual experiencing a mental health crisis.

The position:

  • Co-located at the 911 Call Center to receive direct transfer of calls from 911 Call Takers.

  • Provide telephonic crisis mental health screenings to divert mental health calls from police to community based mental health providers. 

  • Dispatch mental health clinicians when able.

  • Consultation to 911 call takers and dispatchers during higher intensity calls to 911.

  • Collaborate with Integral Care treatment teams for individuals who call 911 with great frequency.

  • Provide telehealth crisis screening and assessments in partnership with Austin Police Department and EMS.

  • Assist with EMS call takers and dispatchers.

  • Potential for community field response with another clinician or health care provider to do community-based crisis screenings and assessments 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Flexible, detail oriented, comfortable with multiple forms of technology, a team player, calm under pressure, and has a growth mindset.

  • Comfortable with change.

  • Previous crisis assessment experience is strongly recommended.

Call Center Crisis Clinician (QMHP) Education:

Required:

  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with a major specialization in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or related field.

Preferred: 

  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree with a major specialization in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or related field.

Call Center Crisis Clinician (QMHP) License:

Required:

  • Center certification (QHMP-CS) to perform psychosocial rehabilitative skills training and case management.
  • Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Call Center Crisis Clinician (QMHP) Experience:

Preferred:

  • Bilingual in Spanish

Hours: Full-time; 12pm-10pm; Monday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday. This role is eligible for shift differential. Please inquire during interview. 

Salary: Starting Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) salary is at $38,479-$40,739 based on education, but internal applicants are subject to Integral Care's QMHP career ladder. 

Sign-on incentive: Integral Care is looking to grow our teams with talented and caring people just like you. Currently, we are offering a $2,000 sign-on incentive for all newly hired employees! All newly hired employees will receive $1,000 on their first paycheck and $1,000 on the paycheck following their six-month anniversary. 

This position is eligible for differential pay: 

  • Second Shift: $3.25
  • Third Shift: $4.25
  • Weekend Shift: $5.00
