Job Summary:  This position serves as an Advance Practice Nurse on the Expanded Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT). The Expanded MCOT is designed to be immediately available to respond to clients at the site of the crisis, and works closely with community partners (EMS, APD, TCSO, and Central Booking) to collaborate on cases. This position will be working in through Telehealth services as well as community setting, as needed, serving an adult and adolescent population. There is moderate latitude for the exercise of independent judgment. This position requires the transportation of consumers in personal vehicle.

Under the supervision of a licensed Physician, APN will provide medical services within scope of license, training, credentialing, and current standards of care and per quality criteria of the employer. Responsibilities include: determination and documentation of evidence of psychopathology leading to a diagnostic formulation. Assesses client's needs and options, in consultation and collaboration with primary care team if indicated, to satisfy the requirements of the case. Discusses with the client his/her findings and recommendations in patient centered manner. Determines whether initiation of treatment is urgent, medications, hospitalization, social setting, detox program. Documents therapist's plan and/or completes other referral/medical forms as appropriate. Discusses his/her opinions and/or findings with fellow clinical staff, provides direction to and works collaboratively with assigned support staff, and primary care team. Works collaboratively with Unit Manager(s) and Medical Director to define and deliver quality clinical medical care for all clients with the unit(s)



  • Graduation from an accredited nursing school/PA school. 



  • Licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse-Psychiatric Mental Health or Physician Assistant in Texas. 
  • Current DPS and DEA licenses 
  • Current and valid Texas driver's license and a clean driving record. 



  • Demonstrated capabilities in medical practice and clinical administration and management. 
  • Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience 
  • Meets all other criteria for employment and medical staff appointment, as appropriate. 

Hours:  Part-Time; Two 10-hour shifts 10:00am-8:00pm, Friday, Saturday or Sunday OR One 10-hour shift Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday-Thursdays 6:00pm-10:00pm.

Salary:  $54.65 - $64.89 an hour depending on years of licensed experience.
