Job Summary: The Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) QMHP is responsible for required deliverables as listed under assigned MHFA grant. This includes: managing outreach to increase awareness of MHFA in the community; coordinating and delivering MHFA trainings; preparing course material and equipment. The goal is to increase awareness of MHFA in various communities and increase the number of trainings delivered and professionals trained. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders as outlined in assigned MHFA grant (schools, community, businesses, etc.)and supports continuous program growth and community engagement. Position may also require activities related to other grants supporting MHFA awareness in our community. Responsible for maintaining the necessary curriculum for MHFA to meet the needs listed in the grant. Responsible for assisting in collecting and analyzing all data as listed in the grant. This position works closely with K-12 schools and school districts to expand access to MHFA training and supports collaboration with a variety of community partners, including higher education institutions, first responders, veterans and military communities, attorneys and judges, businesses, and other organizations. Plans and performs all training programs under the grant.
Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHP) embrace trauma-sensitive and informed practices, provide Suicide Safer care, and foster a supportive and welcoming environment. QMHPs operate in a dynamic environment, develop extensive knowledge of community resources, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and cultivate a clinical skill set by forging therapeutic relationships with community members and/or stakeholders. Interventions and services can be both office- and community-based and may require the use of a personal automobile. Individuals served may be diagnosed with mental illness, co-occurring substance use disorders, chronic health conditions, and/or IDD.Staff members in this position are working under the supervision of a clinically licensed professional who provides ongoing evaluation and oversight of all assessments, diagnoses and treatment. At this level, clinical assignments may be of moderate complexity and are handled with considerable independence, and complicated cases receive closer clinical review and supervision.
Services provided may include individual, family and/or group skills training using evidence-based interventions, crisis assessment, and case management.
Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Education:
- Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with a major specialization in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Required:
- Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Experience:
Preferred:
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Experience facilitating trainings or public speaking.
Hours: Full-Time.
Workdays: Monday - Friday, occasional weekends.
Workhours: 8:00AM - 5:00PM.
Salary: $24.18 - $25.39 an hour, based on education.
Position may be eligible for an additional shift differential pay.
- Second Shift: $3.25/hour.
- Third Shift: $7.25/hour.
- Weekend Shift: $8.00/hour.
