Job Summary: RA1SE is a community based program that works with individuals ages 15-30 who have experienced a first episode of psychosis. The Employment & Education Specialist is a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) who provides employment skills training to individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness who may also have co-occurring substance use disorders, chronic health conditions, and/or IDD.
The Employment & Education Specialist participates in diagnostic evaluation, completes assessment, and collaborates with individuals to define and facilitate desired life outcomes utilizing a recovery based and trauma-informed perspective. The Employment & Education Specialist may provide all or some of the following: deliver therapeutic interventions fostering skills necessary to manage symptoms, obtain/maintain employment, or housing, or help obtain services such as school, medical care, nutritional assistance, financial assistance, transportation, legal assistance, and other resources to fulfill needs. Services are typically provided in the community. Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHP) embrace trauma-sensitive and informed practices, provide Suicide Safer care, and foster a supportive and welcoming environment. QMHPs operate in a dynamic environment, develop extensive knowledge of community resources, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and cultivate a clinical skill set by forging therapeutic relationships with community members and/or stakeholders. Interventions and services can be both office- and community-based and may require the use of a personal automobile. Individuals served may be diagnosed with mental illness, co-occurring substance use disorders, chronic health conditions, and/or IDD.
Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.
