Job Summary: The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides essential nursing care and support to patients enrolled in a Narcotic Treatment Program (NTP). Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or physician, the LVN is responsible for conducting patient observations, administering medications, and assisting in the monitoring and assessment of individuals experiencing substance use withdrawal. The LVN plays a key role in promoting patient safety, treatment compliance, and recovery-focused care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in performing COWS (Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale) and CIWA (Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment for Alcohol) assessments under supervision, and report findings to the RN or medical provider.
- Observe and report signs of intoxication, withdrawal, or adverse medication reactions.
- Administer prescribed medications, including methadone, buprenorphine, and other treatment-related medications, in accordance with program policies and regulations.
- Monitor patients after medication administration to ensure safety and effectiveness.
- Accurately document all care provided, including assessments, medication administration, and patient responses, following clinical protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, counselors, and other team members to support individualized treatment planning and patient care.
- Provide patient education regarding medication compliance, withdrawal symptoms, and overall wellness within scope of practice.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and confidential treatment environment in line with HIPAA and professional nursing standards.
Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Workhours: Monday - Saturday as needed.
Salary: $28.26 - $36.02 an hour depending on years of licensure, plus an additional 10% crisis stipend.
Position may be eligible for an additional shift differential pay.
