Job Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) will play an essential role in supporting patients undergoing treatment for substance use disorders within a Narcotic Treatment Program (NTP). This position is responsible for conducting clinical assessments, monitoring patient status, administering medications, and providing compassionate care in accordance with established protocols and regulatory standards. The RN must possess a strong understanding of substance use disorders and demonstrate clinical judgment in assessing intoxication, withdrawal symptoms, and treatment response.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform COWS (Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale) and CIWA (Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment for Alcohol) assessments to monitor withdrawal symptoms and determine appropriate interventions.
- Assess patients for signs of intoxication, overdose, or medical/psychiatric instability, and respond appropriately.
- Administer and document medications, including methadone, buprenorphine, and other treatment-related medications, in compliance with program protocols and federal/state regulations.
- Monitor patients post-medication for adverse reactions or changes in condition.
- Collaborate with physicians, counselors, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to provide person centered care.
- Educate patients about medication regimens, withdrawal symptoms, overdose prevention and health maintenance related to substance use recovery.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, ensuring adherence to confidentiality and HIPAA standards.
Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Salary: $37.87 - $50.69 an hour depending on licensure.
