Program Specialist - (Hybrid)

Job Summary: The Program Specialist performs complex quality assurance work in light of contractual and agency requirements, and Joint Commission accreditation standards. Upon identification of areas needing improvement, the Specialist works with practice leadership in the development, monitoring, and review of quality improvement initiatives. The Program Specialist serves as a training resource for clinical staff and managers with regards to Medicaid and other statutory regulations, documentation standards, and concepts related to person centered recovery planning. The Program Specialist acts as liaison between the agency's MIS Department and the clinical practice, providing training and technical assistance in the use of the agency's electronic health record system, management reports, and other relevant information systems. This position has moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This position is under the general supervision of the Operations Manager-Program Support (OMPS).

If acting in a team lead capacity, the Program Specialist Team Lead provides technical and oversight support to the Program Specialist team and serves as a liaison between the team and the OMPS. The PS Team Lead serves as a project leader as assigned by the OMPS and develops strategies to improve and enhance Program Specialist team efforts. The PS Team Lead represents the team at various meetings as requested by the OMPS and provides feedback to the Manager regarding Program Specialists work performance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Prior knowledge of Medicaid, HHSC/DSHS, and Joint Commission guidelines as they relate to the delivery of mental health services is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret performance contracts and program standards for a variety of behavioral health programs.
  • Skill in operating computer spreadsheet, word processing, and client database programs.
  • Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts and data; to devise solutions to problems; to prepare concise reports, and to develop and evaluate policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing required.
  • Ability to develop and implement and update staff training programs is required.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments.

Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Education:

Required:

  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with a major specialization in Behavioral/Social Services or related field. Master's degree preferred.

License:

Required:

  • Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Experience:

Required:

  • Experience in evaluation and/or or data analysis.
  • Experience and/or eligibility for credentialing as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP).

Preferred:

  • Experience in direct client care in mental health or intellectual disabilities.

    Hours: Full-Time.

    Workdays: Monday - Friday.

    Workhours: 8:00AM - 5:00PM.

    Salary: $53,822 annually.
