Education:  High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.  Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with a major specialization in Nursing is preferred.

Description:  This position is assigned to The Judge Guy Herman Center for Mental Health Crisis Care. This position is within the Crisis Services Division of Integral Care. The Herman Center is one of a kind in the Austin/Travis County area providing innovative and highly desirable emergency psychiatric crisis care to adults experiencing a mental health crisis.  This position provides clinical nursing care to 16 individuals experiencing mental health crisis. This is done within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act and best practices identified by health care research.  May require cross training with other units. Will evaluate client needs and initiate actions for remediation within the scope of practice; assist in orientation of other nursing staff; will assist the Unit Director and RN Supervisor with review and monitoring of processes effecting client welfare; accurately administer medications to client population, including tuberculin testing; and promote the team functioning to meet client needs. This position requires moderate latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment. The position is responsible directly to the assigned RN Supervisor, and indirectly to the Director of Nursing (DON) for clinical performance and to the Unit Director/Manager for fiscal issues. A minimum of two (2) years of experience providing care for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental illness and substance abuse disorders.  Bilingual fluency in Spanish if preferred.

License(s):  Required to be licensed as an LVN in the state of Texas. Current and valid Texas driver's license and a clean driving record required.

Hours:  Rotating schedule, 7am-7pm.

Salary:  $19.30-$23.27 an hour. Upon successfully passing our agency bilingual exam, an added annual bilingual pay up to $3,730 would apply.
