LPHA Supervisor

Job Number: 26-11985

Job Summary:

The Mission: Redefining Emergency Care Austin is at the forefront of a national movement, and our 911 Crisis Diversion program is the proof: Mental health crises belong in the hands of clinicians, not the criminal justice system. As an LPHA Supervisor, you aren't just managing a shift; you are leading a revolution in how our community experiences emergency services.

We are looking for a clinical leader who believes that mental health is a true emergency and is passionate about building a system that is safer, more equitable, and more effective for everyone-especially our community's most vulnerable members.

The Role: Mentorship and Clinical Excellence This is a high-impact leadership role designed for the clinician who wants to move the needle at a systems level. You will trade high caseloads for the opportunity to train the next generation of crisis experts.

Clinical Mentorship: You are the primary mentor for clinicians and leads, providing the oversight and "in-the-moment" coaching that turns new graduates into seasoned crisis professionals.

Systems Innovation: You'll collaborate with LPHA peers and the Practice Manager to refine our "alternative response" model, using data-driven insights to improve deflection rates and clinical outcomes.

High-Stakes Oversight: You handle the "hard conversations" and provide clinical calibration for complex cases, ensuring that every person who calls 911 receives compassionate, expert care.

Advocate for Equity: You lead a team dedicated to harm reduction, reducing unnecessary police involvement, and connecting underserved populations to the care they actually need.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Leadership and Development

Shape the Team: Drive hiring, onboarding, and monthly clinical supervision for clinicians and Shift Leads.

Clinical Calibration: Lead huddles and group supervision to ensure high-risk triage and risk assessments are top-tier.

Quality Improvement: Contribute to the "Crisis Academy" and quality improvement initiatives to keep our program at the cutting edge of the field.

Operational Impact

Frontline Presence: Maintain a visible, helpful presence in the 911 center-monitoring operations, coaching clinicians, and ensuring clinical excellence in real-time.

Inter-Agency Collaboration: Partner with APD, EMS, and Travis County stakeholders to demonstrate the power of specialized crisis response.

Crisis System Stewardship: Participate in the supervisor-on-staff rotation to support the broader continuum of care (MCOT, EMCOT, PES).

The Impact: Direct reporting to the Practice Manager, with the autonomy to lead your team while staying aligned with our high-level vision.
