Help Desk Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking a customer-focused, tech-savvy Help Desk Technician to join our IT team. This hybrid position requires a minimum of 2-3 days onsite per week at various agency locations and participation in a rotating on-call schedule to support our 24/7 operations. The Help Desk Technician provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for computer systems, phones, hardware, and software. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills who can assist users both remotely and in person.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to helpdesk calls and emails; provide technical support to end users.
    Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and phone systems.
  • Set up, configure, and issue computers, peripherals, and phones to employees.
  • Unpack, label, and prep new equipment for deployment and inventory.
  • Install, repair, and update computer hardware and software as needed.
  • Create email accounts, assign user passwords, and perform user onboarding/offboarding tasks.
  • Provide end-user training on systems, equipment, and common applications.
  • Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve system issues.
  • Maintain daily performance of IT systems and ensure issue resolution follow-up.
  • Document support requests and resolutions accurately.
  • Collaborate with IT team on projects and other duties as assigned.

Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Education:

  • Two years formal electronics training or two years college/business school preferred. Educational requirements may be offset by additional work experience

License: 

Required:

  • Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record. 

Experience: 

Required: 

  • Direct work experience in computer hardware and software installation maintenance and installation, help desk, Microsoft Office 365 maintenance.

Hours: Full-Time.

Workdays: Monday - Friday (Rotating on-call nights/weekends/holidays).

Workhours: 8:00AM - 5:00PM.

Salary: $24.41 an hour.
