911 Mental Health Triage Specialist - QMHP

Job Number: 26-12044

Job Summary: Austin's alternative crisis response program embeds licensed clinicians directly in 911 operations, routing mental health calls away from law enforcement and toward clinical intervention. The QMHP Lead is a senior clinician on the floor who carries a full call load while also supporting the team around them. It's a working lead role - you're responding to calls, coaching colleagues in real time, and monitoring the quality of clinical documentation across the shift.

This is a natural next step for an experienced crisis clinician or call center professional who's ready to take on more responsibility without stepping away from direct service.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct Crisis Response

  • Respond to 911 mental health crisis calls, conducting triage, risk assessment, and de-escalation.
  • Cover call volume during peak periods and solo-staffed shifts.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with partner agencies, including APD, EMS, and TCSO.

Team Support & Training

  • Provide in-the-moment coaching to clinicians handling difficult calls or complex clinical decisions.
  • Support onboarding and floor-based training for new hires, helping them develop confidence and competency.
  • Lead brief shift huddles to share updates, flag issues, and keep the team aligned.

Quality Assurance

  • Review calls and documentation regularly to ensure clinical standards are consistently met.
  • Provide feedback to clinicians and inform supervisors of trends or areas requiring attention.
  • Participate in periodic calibration sessions with clinical leadership to maintain alignment with program standards.

Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Integral Care employees are to strive to maintain a trauma sensitive workplace, to embrace trauma sensitive and informed practices, and to foster a supportive and welcoming environment of care.
